HALLOWEEN 2009 UPDATE

Like a lot of my other older props, Beatrix got a make-over. I decided to tone down the reaper thing and lean more into her back story as the theif children’s souls. On that note she sacrificed her lower two arms for our friend Joe Rombie (he needed new hands, those gloves had to go or I’d have to start calling him OJ). Also gone is the scythe. This is all towards the movement away from the traditional gothic cemetery characters.

Lastly I decided to make her free-standing so she now has a base and can be placed anywhere in the yard. I borrowed some of the material from Agnes’ robes to solidify Beatrix and make her less apparition like.

Ok guys, the infant in arms DOES kinda look like boobs in the pictures.

Ok, everyone agrees, they look like boobs so I changed the elbow joint in the carrying arm from a 90 degree connector to a 45. Have to admit, it DOES look a lot better now.

Weather permitting this weekend I’m gonna take her outside and spray paint the base black to help hide it.

[...] Well I actually got around to dying her clothes today. I was hoping it would come out dark grey and it very well did. Draped it over her for a quick dress rehearsal. Also put a piece of 1/2 PVC in her hands where the scythe will be so you can get an idea of the final outcome. Gonna do a lighting test maybe this evening. [...]
